Travellers’ information

- Border controls: French President François Hollande has decided to immediately reinstate systematic border checks. This means an increase of random border control checks at all entry points into France. Longer delays at border controls are to be expected.

These checks are performed at road crossing-points, rail, sea and airports.

Airports continue to operate.

Air and rail links are ensured.

The conditions of entry into France remain unchanged and follow the Schengen rules.

You must travel with your passport, with a visa if required, and carry the usual supporting evidence to justify your stay in France (proofs of financial means of support, of accommodation, of travel and of medical travel insurance).

You may be asked to produce these documents by the Immigration Officer when entering France, even though you may already have produced them when entering the Schengen space in another country.

With the enhanced security measures, you should carry those at all times should you be asked to prove your identity and justify the conditions and purposes of your stay in France.
