Somalia – Terrorist attack on a Mogadishu hotel – Statement by Bernard Kouchner, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs

A Mogadishu hotel was yesterday the target of a bloody terrorist attack. Around 30 people, including members of parliament, are dead.
France utterly condemns this barbarous terrorist act.
I express our deepest condolences to the bereaved and the Somali authorities.
More than ever, the international community must be united to support the African Union peacekeeping mission in Somalia, help the Somali people in these tragic ordeals and back the Transitional Federal Government and its president, Sheikh Sharif.
