Seeds Meetings: Results of 2016 Additional Call for Proposals
Following the latest call for proposals of the Funding for Seed Meetings Programme, which aims at facilitating exchanges and meetings between scientists of the UK and France and strengthening their position within the European Research Area (ERA), you will find here an overview of the selected proposals.
The three selected workshops fall in a variety of science subjects and are all multidisciplinary. They will take place in London in September and October 2016.
- Novel therapeutic strategy in control of cardiac remodeling (Inserm - University of East Anglia)
The objective of the proposal is to foster multidisciplinary collaboration between France and the United Kingdom focusing on cardiovascular disease. The project focuses on a fundamental breakthrough in the conceptual understanding of biochemical pathways associated with heart failure and cardiac remodeling following a heart attack (myocardial infarction).
- Fibre sensing Network Development to encompass Enlarged Research in novelty Sensors (CNRS - London City University)
This meeting has the aim of regrouping the diverse and complementary competences from cross-Channel laboratories and strives to provide a platform for developing a novel generation of fibre optic-based sensors and their associated sensor instrumentation to address a suite of niche applications under extreme conditions.
- Acquired Demyelinating Syndromes (ADS) (Hôpitaux Universitaires Paris-Sud - University College London)
The proposal aims at drafting a project to refine the clinical, radiological features of ADS and to characterize immunological factors that contribute to ADS associated with anti-MOG antibodies.
