President Hollande to inaugurate Lycée Winston Churchill

French President François Hollande will inaugurate Lycée international de Londres Winston Churchill in Wembley this Tuesday

President Hollande will officially inaugurate the new Lycée internationale de Londres (LIL) Winston Churchill on Tuesday evening.

The President will be welcomed by headteacher Mireille Rabaté and a delegation of invited guests, ahead of a visit to UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s countryside residence of Chequers.

The lycée welcomed its first intake of students in September with its inaugural year marking the 75th anniversary of Winston Churchill’s first becoming British Prime Minister and the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

The Lycée’s sister school, Charles de Gaulle, celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, and this is an important moment to recall these two powerful leaders who together marked history.
