President Hollande expresses outrage at murder of Christians in Libya
Paris, 20 April 2015
The French President expresses his outrage after the group Daesh [ISIL] claimed responsibility for the appalling murder of 28 people in Libya because of their Christian faith.
He utterly condemns this crime and the atrocities which Daesh commits daily against civilians, whatever their origin or religion, in the countries where it is operating.
He reiterates his determination to fight this terrorist group and affirms his full support for the efforts of the United Nations’ Special Representative in Libya. A national reconciliation agreement remains both a necessity and a matter of urgency for restoring law and order and security on Libyan territory./.
