OFFICIAL LIST OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION CANDIDATES

On 19 March 2007, the Constitutional Council released the list of the 12 candidates qualified to stand in this year’s presidential election. All received the backing of the requisite number of elected officials between 22 February and 6 p.m. on 16 March.

In accordance with the rules, the order in which the names appear on the list has been decided by lot.
