The awarding of the Légion d’honneur to Maxime Holder is recognition for an incredible career which, thanks to the quality and reputation of the PAUL bakery brand, has contributed to the export of French food across the world. PAUL bakeries are present in 34 different countries, each creating their own "little corner of France".
Currently president of PAUL International, Maxime Holder came to London at the beginning of the 2000s. His knowledge of the British market and his attention to the quality of the product - which has become a showcase for French excellence - are behind the brand’s international success. Maxime Holder, driven by his committment, has also reinforced the social and ethical roots of the company, through partnering with multiple charities.
It is therefore for his efforts in promoting cultural, economic and gastronomic cooperation between France and the UK that Maxime Holder has received this distinction. The Ambassador paid tribute in particular to his committment to the French community in London.
"PAUL has become a major player on the London stage, with more than 40 outlets, and now two restaurants, which are equally showcases for French excellence.
"You spend a lot of time on economic diplomacy, by making yourself available to mentor or guide small and medium-sized businesses that wish to establish themselves in the UK."
