Please note that the United Kingdom not being part of the Schengen area, a UK visa does not allow your entry into France. Should you wish to travel to France, you must apply for a Schengen visa in your country of residence before travelling to the UK. As per the decree 2008-1176 of the 13th of November 2008, the French Consulate, London, is not competent in processing visa applications of people not resident in the UK, i.e. holders of ’C-Visit’ visas or of British visas valid for 6 months or less.

  Biometric visas

In accordance with the European Council Decision 2004/512/EC, from 6 Feb 2012, the French Consulate will issue biometric visas - this new measure entails the compulsory appearance of all visa nationals (except children under the age of 12) as biometric data (photograph and fingerprints) must be collected.

 Eu-Georgia visas facilitation agreement

The visa facilitation agreement signed between the EU and Georgia will come into force the 1st of March.

The main points of this agreement are (for all the details please look at the text of the agreement) :

- holders of diplomatic passports are exempted from short stay and transit visa,
- the visa fee will be 35 €;
- fee exemptions will apply for students and family members (spouse, children, parents, grand parents, grand children) of Georgian nationals who are legally residing in France (they’ll have to produce the proof of the family link and a copy of the French resident permit of their family member);
- supporting documents are reduced for several categories ;
- multiples entries visas valid from 1 to 5 years will be issued to several categories.
