Joint communiqué issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence and Ministry for Agriculture and Fisheries, Paris 23.03.2001
France expresses her solidarity with the United Kingdom
Wishing to express its solidarity with the British Government, the French government has decided to respond to the appeal by that country’s authorities.
Accordingly, on Monday [26 March] ten senior veterinary officers from the Ministry for Agriculture and Fisheries will be ready to assist the British veterinary services.
For its part, the Defence Ministry has delegated four armed forces veterinary surgeons who have all already participated in operations outside France and are specialists in animal health or food hygiene./.
