A European Phytosanitary Passport might be required for certain plants subject to carrying diseases and parasites. Please contact the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for further information. Given the great number of species and the variety of common names given to them, always state the botanical name of the plants concerned.

Regarding the journey, please contact the appropriate transport companies to check if your are allowed to travel with a plant.
Some species are protected by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). They cannot be exported without a certificate. This certificate has to be issued at the time of purchase of the plant/animal.
You have to check if your animal or plant belongs to a CITES species. A specimen of a CITES-listed species may be imported to France only if the appropriate document has been obtained and presented for clearance at the port of entry.
