G20 Conference Series: Governing the Internet
On May 10th, the French Embassy in the UK hosted a round-table discussion on Internet governance at the French Institute in London. This conference was organised in partnership with the Financial Times, the LSE, the Franco-British Council, the French Institute and Chatham House.
The panel of experts was chaired by Ludwig Siegele, head of New Technologies at The Economist, and included:
- Nigel Hickson, British sherpa to the G8 on international ICT policy;
- Jean-Michel Hubert, French sherpa to the G8 on international ICT policy;
- Richard Allan, director of policy at Facebook;
- Bertrand de la Chapelle, ICANN Board Member;
- Ian Brown, Senior Research Fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute; and
- Gilles Lordet of Reporter Sans Frontières.
This conference is the third in a six part series about the G20 and global governance. Conferences will be organised in London throughout 2011 as part of France’s presidency of the G20 and G8:
