French scientist Valérie Masson-Delmotte elected co-chair at IPCC

French climatologist Valérie Masson-Delmotte has been elected co-chair of the 1st IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change) working group last week in Dubrovnik.

This group assesses the physical scientific aspects of the climate system and climate change.

She will be in charge of the coordination of several hundreds of scientists’ work alongside her Chinese counterpart Panmao Zhai.

Valérie Masson-Delmotte is a member of the Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l’Environnement (Laboratory of Climate and Environment Sciences).
