François Hollande congratulates Burkina Faso’s new president

The French President spoke on the telephone to Roch Marc Christian Kabore, whose election as President of Burkina Faso has just been confirmed by the country’s National Electoral Commission.
He extended his warmest congratulations to him on his clear, indisputable election and wished him every success in his future office. The Head of State drew attention to the exemplary political transition in Burkina Faso.
The President also welcomes the spirit of responsibility shown by the other presidential election candidates and their swift acknowledgement of the results published.
On the sidelines of the “Climate challenge and African solutions” summit, held this morning at the Paris Climate Conference (COP21) Le Bourget site, François Hollande was also keen to salute the role of the transitional president, Michel Kafando, who wisely and steadfastly oversaw this pivotal period./.
