France welcomes Canada’s pledge to cut greenhouse gas emissions
Climate disruption/Canada’s contribution for COP21 – Statement by M. Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, President of COP21
Paris, 18 May 2015
I welcome the publication by Canada of its contribution to COP21. This contribution sets a target for reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030 compared to 2005 levels, which will be implemented through a combination of federal policies and measures decided upon by the Canadian provinces.
This represents an increase compared with the previous targets set by the Canadian government.
Canada is the 37th country to publish its contribution to COP21./.
