France voices solidarity against Daesh after Iraq attack

The French President utterly condemns the terrible attack on a market in the Sadr City district of Baghdad this morning, which killed more than 50 people and injured more than 200 and for which the terrorist group Daesh [ISIL] has claimed responsibility.
The Head of State spoke to the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mr Haider al-Abadi, late in the afternoon today. He told him of his support and extended his condolences to the victims’ families.
The President reaffirmed France’s solidarity in the fight against Daesh and called for international mobilization to be continued and stepped up.
Finally, the Head of State congratulated Mr Al-Abadi on the Iraqi state reforms he recently announced to improve the security and prosperity of all his citizens./.
