France celebrates science during its annual festival (8-16 October)

The 2016 edition of French Science Festival ("Fête de la Science") kicks off on 8th October. Research and science organisations are running numerous public events all over the country during one week.

This annual event organised by the French ministry for education, higher education and research aims at showcasing all the fields of science and research to the wide public. More than 3000 workshops, conferences, exhibitions, debates and manifestations will take place from 8th to 16th October.

This year, the festival celebrates its 25th anniversary. It is mentored by French astronaut Thomas Pesquet, who is due to take off for the International Space Station in November for the 6 months Proxima mission.
