France and UK sign agreement to strengthen police and judicial cooperation against serious and organized crime

An agreement to simplify Franco-British cooperation against organized crime was ratified in Paris by the two countries’ representatives on 7 September 2015.

The agreement relates to serious crimes such as drug trafficking, people trafficking and financial crime. It aims to improve police and judicial cooperation between France and the UK, which is often complicated by the different legal systems.

French and British police will be able to contact each other directly to obtain information on suspects. The agreement will strengthen operational cooperation between the two countries/.
