France and Botswana discuss peace and security in Africa

The French President had a meeting at the Elysée Palace on 23 June 2015 with Mr Seretse Khama Ian Khama, President of Botswana, on an official visit to France.
The two presidents welcomed the signing of a framework agreement on education which will allow France and Botswana to cooperate in the field, particularly as regards the teaching of French in Botswanan schools. On Mr Khama’s visit to Paris, there was also agreement on strengthening relations in defence matters. Finally, the two presidents talked about peace and security in Africa.
The two heads of state talked about preparations for the 2015 Paris Climate Conference and the French President thanked his Botswanan counterpart for his initiatives in the area of biodiversity, especially for the protection of elephants./.
