Commemoration of General de Gaulle’s 1940 appeal

On Sunday, 18 June, the commemoration of the appeal took place in front of the statue of General de Gaulle in Carlton Gardens, London SW1, led by M. Gérard Errera, French Ambassador to Britain.

Cadets from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Saint-Cyr-Coëtquidan military academy presented arms, a wreath was laid and two French army officers were presented with the insignia of the Ordre National du Mérite.

Children from the primary section of the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle attended the ceremony./.
