Call for application: Head of the joint Helmholtz Association – Inserm research group in France

The candidate should have an excellent scientific standing and international experience in life sciences, health and translational research. Applications from physicians with a strong expertise and research background are welcome. Experience in teaching and in the supervision of dissertations will be highly appreciated. Candidates who are currently supplied by an ERC starting grant, the ATIPAvenir program or with a Helmholtz junior research group are entitled to apply.

He/she is expected to promote interactions between centres of the Helmholtz Association and Inserm, implementing a novel form of co-operation in life sciences between both countries.This binationally supported group will be located in France in close connection with one of the research centres of Inserm offering the most favourable environment.

The final selection will take into account the expertise of the candidate, as well as the consistency between the project and the scientific and clinical environment and the institutional policies. Both Inserm and the Helmholtz Association are happy to provide additional information and advice to potential candidates.

Applications from qualified women are strongly encouraged. Handicapped persons having the same qualification will be preferred. Personnel, core facilities and consumables will be supplied jointly by Inserm and the Helmholtz Association. The appointment will be limited to a period of five years with an annual budget up to 500.000 €. It can be continued after a positive external review. Candidates will have access to all Inserm and Helmholtz Association granting programs.
