Bill extending state of emergency to be presented to Council of Ministers

The President, along with the Prime Minister, consulted the political groups represented in Parliament about the constitutional bill to protect the nation. He would like the text to receive the widest possible agreement.
The President announced that, in view of the terrorist threat, the government would present to the Council of Ministers on 3 February 2016 a bill extending the state of emergency for a duration of three months.
The same Council of Ministers meeting will deliberate the bill stepping up the fight against organized crime and its financing, and the effectiveness and safeguards of criminal procedure.
Finally, the President asked the Prime Minister to present, during his hearing before the Law Committee on Wednesday, the draft implementing bills for the constitutional revision./.
