Central and Eastern Europe/Floods – Statement by Bernard Kouchner, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs

I was deeply shocked to learn of the severe floods now hitting Germany, Lithuania, Poland and the Czech Republic, which have resulted in numerous casualties.
France extends her sincere condolences to the bereaved.
Within the framework of European solidarity mechanisms, France will study any requests for assistance formulated by the affected countries’ authorities./.
