The Minister of State for the Digital Sector, Axelle Lemaire, was at the French Residence on Thursday night for the first ever ’Jeudigital’ outside Paris.

The initiative, launched by the minister, allows French start-ups in the third phase of raising investment (series C) the chance to present their innovation skills to potential investors.

Pitching to 60 investors were web optimization company, Cedexis; online marketplace Mirakl; mobile advertiser Mozoo Group; data solution firm Scaled Risk; agriculture site Agriconomie; fashion marketplace Videdressing; and air pollution monitoring service Plume_Labs.

The event was introduced by French Ambassador Sylvie Bermann, who paid tribute to successful start-ups like Bla Bla Car, which has more than 10 million users, and Venteprivée.com, a French unicorn, which has enjoyed double-figure growth.

Successful venture capital investors Frédéric Court and Fred Destin also praised the current investment climate for companies based in France.

In her closing statement, Axelle Lemaire declared that an entrepreneurial revolution is taking place in France at the moment, adding: "The old economy is becoming digital. The French fully realize that."
