Axelle Lemaire and Boris Johnson attend 14 July event
Annual celebration at the Ambassador’s Residence attended by French Minister of State for the Digital Sector and the new British Foreign Secretary

The Ambassador hosted a reception at the French Residence to celebrate France’s National Day.
Among the guests at London’s Kensington Palace Gardens was French Minister of State for the Digital Sector Axelle Lemaire, and British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson.
In her speech the Ambassador said: "Cher Boris, I’m very pleased that you are able to join us this evening for one of your first official appearances less than 24 hours after your appointment. Allow me to congratulate you warmly on this promotion."
In her speech, Axelle Lemaire paid tribute to the European Union.
Speaking in French Boris Johnson said: "I’m very excited to be joining you in this wonderful setting to celebrate the 14 July with you on the first day of my role as Foreign Secretary."
In total around 1,500 guests attended the invite-only event. Ambassador Bermann also announced the winner of a competition to become the newest face of the Créative France campaign in the UK: Devialet, specialists in high-end amplifiers.
