CIRAD (French institute for agronomical research) is looking for somebody to carry out a PhD whose topic would be : "Optimization of the fast pyrolysis of biomass in fluidized bed, in order to prepare a liquid load for gasification processes and synthesis of Fischer-Tropsch biofuels".
In jointly-directed PhD between France and the UK, students can prepare their PhD in two different complementary laboratories, under the guidance of two Principal Investigators (PIs). Since January 2005, providing the appropriate standards are met for both written and oral works in the thesis presented and in the examination, both universities agree to award a Joint PhD with the title of Docteur / Doctor of Philosophy, bearing the crests of the two universities. The Joint PhD programme between France and the UK is still at an experimental stage. Universa is a consortium of six French Management Grandes Ecoles, which propose a Master of Science in Management degree from one of the six partner schools (two years of study in the Grande Ecole programme). The call for application will be opened 1 October 2007, for the academic year 2008.
