12 November 2011. A small but elegant ceremony in memory of those who sacrificed their lives during the Great War was held under the statue of Maréchal Foch near Victoria Station in London. 20 October 2011. Ambassador Bernard Emié went to York on 20 October to attend the inauguration of the French Air Force memorial at York Minster. The memorial plaque is the first French war memorial to be placed in an English cathedral.
